NOT JUST ‘ANOTHER’ STORE

The iconic AnOther Magazine has launched its luxury limited editions items on its online store. The AnOther Limited Edition series features everything from flash iPhone accessories to haute Macbook sleeves and dazzling print bags that match the experimental high-fashion aesthetic pioneered by the title.

One of AnOther Magazine’s original values was to unite people and ideas from different worlds. Leading designers have contributed to the online store, with Gareth Pugh’s 13” monochrome Macbook/ Macbook Pro sleeve for Incase and a matching iPhone shell, a blue and red printed shopper designed by Peter Pilotto for Mismo, a candle by Colette and a distinctive blue and black CD/ DVD case by Raf Simons.

Each issue of AnOther Magazine seeks to find new ways to present art in the context of a fashion title. As well as the items produced by designers, AnOther Art Editions are a series of exclusive limited-edition art works co-produced by AnOther Magazine’s senior editor Mark Sanders and some of his artist friends who have been featured in the magazine across its nine year history.

The store features Jake and Dinos Chapman’s ‘Darkness in the Soul’, an exclusive signed etching featuring a scene from the famous teddybear’s picnic, where one bear is in for more of a surprise than he bargained for. There’s also Tom Friedman’s Silver Guitarist. The American artist was asked by the magazine to create one of his trademark silver foil artworks to be cast into solid English Hallmarked silver. Vera Lehndorff (perhaps better known as the model Veruschka) teamed up with German artist Holger Trülzsch in the 1970s to create a series of body painting works, and the signed print of 1975’s ‘Green Window Frame’ is now also available to buy from the store.

The October 2009 issue of AnOther Magazine (out now) also showcased twenty-eight designers who defined the decade, from Burberry to Vivienne Westwood, and twenty-eight women who define style, from Natasha Khan to Santigold, to mark the end of a decade in a special collectors’ edition of the magazine.

AnOther’s creative directors David James Associates focused on the avant-garde imagery commissioned solely for its pages. The hazy boundary between art, portraiture and fashion often becomes blurred and these images make up a unique record of the photographic experimentation that has been a distinct trait of the beginning of this millennium.

Three collectable volumes of books showcasing the photographic archives of AnOther Magazine are also available: Another Fashion Book, Another Portrait Book and Another Art Book. All three volumes will be available in a box set following the publication of the final volume.
