ITS_VINTAGE_DARLING‘VINTAGE’ HAS BEEN THE ‘IN’ WORD FOR YEARS NOW. AS THE NAUGHTIES HIT AND OUR CENTURY DREW TO A CLOSE, A RETURN TO FORMER FASHION TRENDS EXPLODED. CROWDS STARTED TO POUR THROUGH ‘VINTAGE’ SHOPS AS ‘PASSÉ’ BECAME HIP AND HAGGARD BECAME ‘RETRO’. CHARITY SHOPS BECAME FASHIONABLE AS SEX AND THE CITY’S CARRIE BRADSHAW MIXED DESIGNER WITH SECOND-HAND, AND PEOPLE BEGAN RAIDING THROUGH PARENT’S WARDROBES TO SEE WHAT HIDDEN TREASURES LAY THERE. BUT AS THOUSANDS DUSTED OFF THEIR 1990’S CONVERSE AND WHITE-WASH DENIM JACKETS, IT SOON BECAME CLEAR THAT FINDING REAL VINTAGE ITEMS THAT RANK ALONGSIDE CONTEMPORARY FASHION WASN’T AS EASY AS SLIPPING ON YOUR COLLEGE PLAID SHIRTS AND SLEEVELESS SWEATERS. WITH MANY A FASHION FAUX PAS TO BE MADE, WE’RE FINALLY LUCKY TO HAVE SOMEONE WHO CAN FIND OUR PERFECT RETRO OUTFITS FOR US, LEAVING OUR EMBARRASSING MISTAKES IN PHOTO ALBUMS OF THE PAST.

phoebebowclutch[4]It’s Vintage Darling! is a new website that tracks down the rarest and most authentic of vintage items. High-quality, pristine pieces are traced from all over the world to bring you the very finest of classic fashion. The site provides shoppers with a range of handbags, dresses, shoes and belts from the 1900s to 1980s, available to buy at a touch of a button.

Fashion always has a way of repeating itself. Even our current trends are amalgamations of former vogue-setting decades – from the 1950s’ waist-cinching belts and prom dresses, 1960s’ micro-minis to the 1970s’ maxi dresses, all of which have been massive staples of our wardrobes for the past year. As London Fashion week comes to a close, we can already see familiar styles creeping back into the high stree, with 1980s’ shoulder pads and jumpsuits making a huge comeback.

It’s Vintage Darling is able to source the original pieces of fashion from those eras with an off-the-rack price making your look as stylish and individual as you can hope. Without wearing the same clobber as everybody else, you will be able to reinvent your wardrobe with genuine accessories pulled directly from our fashion history.

pheoebbalckdress[5]Featuring this season’s hottest looks from glittering metallic’s, structured cuts, clutch purses and cocktail dresses, it’s no wonder that the celebs have jumped on this fashion-wagon too, with Cheryl Cole, Pixie Lott and Alexa Cheung being amongst those sporting its classic pieces.

So if you want to look like you’ve just stepped off the catwalk and not like you’re forming a Spandau Ballet tribute-band it’s best to leave the styling up to the professionals, leaving you to pull-off vintage-chic as well as Jackie O.
